Marina - CP 3

I met with Fatih during coffee hour about two weeks ago for the third time. I was asking him about his weekend, what he does on daily basis here in Tallahassee. He told me that the weekend prior he went to Jacksonville to visit his friend and attend a political conference. He told me that he went to university with his friend who is also from Turkey, who is also a Fulbrighter here and helps Fatih with his paperwork occasionally. He also told me of his interest in politics and we had a conversation about what is currently going on in the Middle East and world in general.
His friends then sat next to us so Fatih introduced me to them so for the rest of the time we all talked until the end. From what I noticed, Fatih seems to be friendly with everyone, which I think is a very good thing to do especially when you go to another country on your own. The friends he made here are in a way a substitute for family so I'm glad he's getting accustomed to the environment.
I also noticed that his English improved because last time I spoke with him I did not have to correct him as much, he did that himself.

  1. I noticed this about Fatih as well. He is very open and friendly with other students. This enables him to practice his English more, and expand his understanding of himself and the world.
