The next task Olga gave the class was for several small groups to select a sheet containing graphical data and a brief article. I found it funny when none of the students wanted the the sheet about France. I have a friend in West Palm Beach that we constantly make fun of for being French. I made a note to tell him of this incident (he laughed btw, he's a good sport). The groups were given three minutes to analyze their sheets. When that was completed each group presented their subject to the class.
Classroom interaction was very good, and Olga kept things going, and frequently engaged the students. She made small notes throughout on her paper regarding students speaking skills, and who needed more help. It was an interesting experience, and I look forward to observing more classes.

Until next time, relax and have some cheese.
I observed a class with her as well and what I liked about her is that she took notes herself as well. I was in her listening class and the class before she took notes on the notes that students talked based on the videos they saw in the previous class. I think it's a good way to engage with students and take note on who needs more or less help understanding something.
ReplyDeleteGood observation. We can see that Olga provided materials for students to draw from, which integrates skills and enables students with information to discuss. BTW, great video!
